Questions

Answers, Straight From Me.

The honest version of how I work: who I take on, the ways to build together, how co-founding actually functions, and where each piece of the work lives. If your question is not here, just ask me directly.

Most Common Questions

  • So uh, what do you do, exactly?

Great question, and one that I get all the time. The short version? I build companies, and I build the parts most founders have to hire a whole team to pull off.

The longer version: it all runs through the various companies I have built. From AI systems at Timatsu, to the custom-built brand identity and web design work at Horizen, to the other enterprises I have a hand in that are too numerous to list here. Give me a rough idea and I take it to a finished, living business. The brand and the story people actually remember. The film and the photography. The website, the app, and the AI learning and growing underneath it. One person (and an army of infrastructure underneath) carrying the whole thing from the first strategy call to launch day, so nothing gets lost in the handoffs between five agencies who never talk to each other or do good enough work to do it justice to begin with.

The vast majority of what I build is for founders that I partner with and/or companies I have personally built. Either way the job is the same one it has always been: find the gap between where a business is and where it wants to be, then build the bridge across it.

  • Do You Take Work That Is Not Co-Founding?

Everyone's favorite (yet true) answer: it depends. Co-founding is reserved for a limited number of partners every year, because what I do requires a ton of attention to detail and care - you don't just casually change a business forever, you know. However, for the right team or solo operator, I sometimes work on a consultation basis, a focused session to map where you stand, and the technology path to pull ahead, where I can build custom software and web platforms end to end. I know this sounds abstract, but almost no one in the world does what I do, so that's why this FAQ is long, I suppose.

Working Together

  • Who Is the Right Fit to Work With Me?

It depends on how deep you want to go, and there is a version for most serious builders. If you have a real technology or systems problem, a platform to build, or software and a site that need to actually work, we can likely do something together, usually as a focused consultation or a custom build shipped end to end. Co-founding is the rare, deepest tier, reserved for a founder past the scrappy start and standing at a genuine inflection point, where the ceiling is technology, not hustle. So the real filter is not your revenue. It is whether there is a gap worth closing, and how far in you want me.

  • Do You Ever Turn Down Interested Businesses?

All the time, and it is one of the things I am most proud of, because it protects everyone involved. I am one of a small handful of people who will turn down a serious, large check simply because I do not believe in the brand or the team behind it, and I do it without losing sleep. What I do only works when everyone is completely all in, and you cannot fake being all in on something you do not actually care about. So every conversation is a filter, and it does not filter for budget. It filters for alignment: whether the thing genuinely matters, whether we would catalyze real change together, and whether this is a partnership I would want for the long haul instead of a transaction. If we fit, you will feel it fast, and so will I.

  • How Does an Engagement Usually Start?

In the real world, usually through an introduction from someone who has first-hand experience working with me. Online, usually an introduction via chatting with my AI Assistant Timatsu or the chat form on Contact. Tell me where your venture stands and what you are trying to build, and you will hear back from me personally. From there I figure out which of the ways to work together actually fits what you need, and I am honest if the answer is none of them yet.

  • Do You Only Build With AI?

While AI is at the core of most of what I build, and a frontier that we are trailblazing at all times, it is only a force-multiplier, not the source of power itself. Plenty of the time the highest-leverage move is sharper software, the right platform, or a brand that finally matches the product. Frankly, in every case it is always better systems, sales procedures, leadership training, and the list goes on. I build what actually moves the venture, and I will tell you when a simpler system beats a model, and I custom build those, too.

Ways to Engage

  • What Are the Ways to Work Together?

Three shapes, from light to all-in. A consultation is the entry point, a focused session where I map where you stand and the exact technology path to pull ahead. A custom build is where I design and ship the software, platform, or site end to end, AI included. And co-founding is the deepest and rarest, a real equity seat where I build the whole stack alongside you. Most people start with one of the first two.

  • Can You Handle Branding, a Website, or Film Too?

Yes. I come from the creative side as much as the technical one, so brand, site, and story are part of how I think, not an afterthought. When a project is primarily branding, web, or film, that is what my studio Horizen is built for, and I bring it in so the identity and the product feel like the same thing. You can see that side of the work over at Horizen. See Horizen.

  • What Does End to End Actually Mean?

Literally everything a business needs to grow exponentially from where it is today. Design, engineering, and AI handled by the founder who ships it, and more. There are 120+ specific areas of the business that I systematically measure, analyze, then dial to 100 across every essential domain in the business, from the brand's identity and perceived legitimacy, to the infrastructures that anchor technology, governance, operations, sales, security, and more.

The Co-Founder Model

  • How Does Venture Co-Founding Work?

I come on as your technical co-founder and build the entire stack alongside you, the design, the software, and the AI, advising the business the whole way, for equity instead of invoices. It is a real seat with skin in the game, not a vendor on a contract. That is exactly why I take on only a limited number each year, and only when the venture has legitimate room to grow.

  • What Does Building It Together Actually Change?

The mechanism, not a promise of some multiple. When one person owns the design, the engineering, and the AI, the seams disappear: the brand brings the right people in, the systems respond faster, better qualification means less waste, and the whole operation runs more efficiently on the same effort. That combination turns the demand you already have into more of it closed, without you having to spend more to get there.

  • What Do You Look For Before Taking Equity?

A founder I would bet on, and a venture with a real, measurable gap I am confident I can close into at least a 2x to 5x lift on today's profit, depending on the growth stage. Because I am putting in commitment instead of billing hours, the bar is high: exceptional people building something with genuine growth potential, where the technology and experience I bring are the difference that unlocks the next level. If that is you, it will be obvious to both of us.

The Stack and the Studios

  • Who Builds the AI and Software Behind the Work?

Timatsu, the software and AI company I own and run, and the same engine that powers my own ventures. That matters, because it means you are not renting a thin wrapper on someone else's model. It is a real, working toolset: a Business MRI that reads a company's actual numbers to find where the leverage hides, an inquiry engine that qualifies and routes every new lead, and a multi-tenant platform that gives each brand its own AI. Because I own what builds it, the founders I work with get the real thing, on an open stack they can see into and keep, never a proprietary black box.

  • Where Do the Different Kinds of Work Live?

Under one roof, with the right studio behind each piece. The software, the platforms, and the AI live at Timatsu. Branding, web, and film live at Horizen. You are still hiring one person who ships across all of it, so nothing arrives stitched together, but each piece is built where it is genuinely built best. You get the range of a full agency with the accountability of a single founder.

  • Will You Stay Involved After Launch?

Yes, and that is the entire point, especially if I am co-founding. That one is obvious, because I am setting something up for perennial, personally sustained growth. The better insight is on the consulting side, where I do not simply hand a build over a wall and disappear. Advising is woven through the work from architecture to launch, and I stay personally connected afterward to make sure what I shipped actually holds up in the real world.
